Description

Capertee Valley is the widest enclosed canyon and the second largest canyon in the world, second only to the Grand Canyon in the USA. Capertee National Park is located approximately 115 kilometres north of Lithgow in the Central West region of the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is within the traditional Country of the Wiradjuri People. Pictured is Pantoneys Crown in the Capertee Valley. Pantoneys Crown is an isolated massif on the western edge of the Blue Mountains. It stands isolated in the entrance to the Capertee valley, a drum of orange sandstone cliffs standing four hundred metres about the valley floor. Pictures © Chris Pavlich
